Research
Department of Physics at POSTECH aims to be in the vanguard throughout diverse research areas.
Physics can be largely classified into 2 categories: theoretical physics and experimental physics. Theoretical Physics is about portraying the nature through the eyes of mathematics. On the other hand, experimental physics focus on confirming existent theoretical conjectures, or finding new interesting phenomena through experiments. Needless to say, developments in both types of physics has brought about diverse applications in chemistry, biology, mechanical engineering, material science, nuclear engineering, and many more new interdisciplinary research areas are being created.
All members of the physics department are striving for world-class excellence in physics research.
Department of Physics strives to be at the forefront of many diverse areas:
Experimental & theoretical condensed matter physics, optics, biophysics, complex systems, plasma physics, and particle physics
