Turbulence in astrophysical plasmas

본문

Turbulence is ubiquitous in astrophysical plasmas. The turbulence found in astrophysical environments, however, is different from the one seen in terrestrial environments. Astrophysical turbulence is compressible and also accompanied by magnetic fields. In the talk, I will review our understanding of astrophysical turbulence, highlighting those in the interstellar (between stars inside our Galaxy) and intergalactic (between galaxies outside our Galaxy) media.
