Nanoscale and Quantum Photonics with Semiconductor Nanostructures

본문

Low-dimensional semiconductor nanostructures such as quantum dots and quantum wires have been actively investigated due to their unique electronic and optical properties. In this talk, we present the fabrication and characterization of various types of light emitting semiconductor nanostructures together with their optoelectronic and quantum photonic applications. Single quantum dots formed in these types of nanostructures overcome many limitations in conventional self-assembled epitaxial quantum dots and can be utilized as high efficiency quantum emitters for quantum information technologies. An overview of the characteristics of the group III-nitride quantum dots as well as graphene-based quantum dots will be given.
